Tonight’s Comprehensive Plan meeting focused on residential teardowns. The meeting was standing room only, and another room had to be opened for the overflow crowd.
The meeting, unfortunately, was a disappointment. It became apparent early in the meeting that the teardown issue cannot be addressed in the same way that other comprehensive plan issues have been addressed, and city staff did not present alternatives to the current tools of conservation districts. Sensing the room’s frustration, the city is scheduling another meeting to address resident concerns specific to teardowns.
